ABOUT Rebecca
Co-founder and Editor of the UIowa Theatre Arts Journal.
Rebecca (She/They) is a second-year dramaturgy MFA candidate at the University of Iowa. They are currently dramaturging In the Red and Brown Water (directed by Caroline Clay), American Rusalki (written by Christopher Lysik), and The Words of Ants (written by Xiaoyan Kang). They recently received an MFA Summer Fellowship to study abroad in Germnay, researching for their upcoming MFA thesis project.
Rebecca is obsessed with all things Scooby-doo, loves the color purple, and has two geckos named after the Golden Girls—Rose and Dorothy.
ABOUT Art
Art Borreca is the faculty advisor for the Theatre Arts Journal.
Art Borreca is Co-Head of the Iowa Playwrights Workshop (the University of Iowa’s MFA Playwriting Program), and Head of the MFA Dramaturgy Program. He has been a Core Member of the Faculty in Dramaturgy in the Hollins University MFA Playwrights Lab. He has worked as a dramaturg with such artists as Athol Fugard, Wole Soyinka, Theodora Skipitares,, Naomi Wallace, and Lisa Schlesinger,, in such venues as Yale Repertory Theatre, LaMama ETC, Oxford Stage Company, and T.P.T. (Theatre Project Tokyo), His writing has appeared in TDR, Modern Drama, Dramaturgy in American Theatre, What is Dramaturgy?, and The Norton Anthology of Drama.
